Our Friday Checklist

Tick each sunnah as the family does it

Every Friday

Why Friday? The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday" (Sahih Muslim 854). Adam (as) was created on a Friday — it is a weekly mini-Eid for the family.

Ghusl or a bath, and clean, favourite clothes
Teeth brushed (miswak or toothbrush) and nails checked by a grown-up
Read or listen to Surah Al-Kahf together
Lots of salawat — blessings on the Prophet ﷺ
Leave early for Jumu'ah and walk calmly
Listen quietly during the khutbah
Make a special dua in the last hour before Maghrib
A family treat after prayer — Friday lunch is sunnah-time

Salawat counter — can we reach 100 together? (20 boxes × 5 rounds)

Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad — say it together in the car, at breakfast, on the walk.

The Dua Hour

Friday's hidden treasure

Reflect

The Prophet ﷺ told us there is an hour on Friday when any Muslim who asks Allah for good will be granted it (Sahih al-Bukhari 935; Sahih Muslim 852). Many scholars say it is the last hour before Maghrib. Families: gather for ten minutes then, and let everyone make their own dua out loud or in their heart.

This Friday we are making dua for…
