Student checklist
- Make intention: Quietly intend to purify yourself for worship.
- Say Bismillah: Begin in the name of Allah.
- Wash hands: Wash both hands up to wrists.
- Rinse mouth: Rinse gently.
- Clean nose: Sniff water lightly and clean the nose.
- Wash face: Wash the full face.
- Wash arms: Wash right then left arm up to elbows.
- Wipe head and ears: Wipe head; many beginner curricula also teach ears.
- Wash feet: Wash right then left foot up to ankles.
- Be careful: Do not waste water; ask a teacher for madhhab-specific details.
Source note: The required washing/wiping actions are based on Quran 5:6. Additional beginner steps are commonly taught as Sunnah practice.
